· Jessie Mihalik does a great job of blending action, romance, political intrigue and family dynamics in just the right amounts, so the story feels balanced without one element taking over. A fun series finale I've enjoyed each of the previous two books (see my reviews here and here) in Jessie Mihalik's Consortium Rebellion series, and to avoid creating any suspense, I really liked Chaos Reigning too. I found it just a little bit slow to get started, but pretty soon the action got going, and I was immersed again in Mihalik's deft blend of space opera and romance. Jessie Mihalik has a degree in Computer Science and a love of all things geeky. A software engineer by trade, Jessie now writes full time from her home in Texas. When she's not writing, she can be found playing co-op video games with her husband, trying out new board games, or reading books pulled from her overflowing bookshelves. In the far distant future, the universe is officially ruled by the Royal Consortium, but the High Councillors, the heads of the three high houses, wield the true power. As the fifth of six children, Ada von Hasenberg has no authority; her only value to her high house is as a pawn in a political marriage.
